Fancy Fold Cards with Club Scrap Literature

Hello friends. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! It was a pretty rainy and gloomy one here in Upstate NY-perfect for crafting! I love fancy folded and unique cards and decided to make a couple with the Club Scrap Literature kit

The 1st one is a Four Fold card. I found a good tutorial on how to make it here.

It has multiple pages that open.

And opens again.

And is actually all one piece folded in an accordion when opened up completely.

Then I found another version of the Double Z Fold Card with a great tutorial here.

You can see how it resembles the basic Double Z Fold-but is a bit different. There's so many varieties out there! Love it!

Have a great day!

Club Scrap Literature Blog Hop

Hi There! It's Blog Hop and Linky Party time again! This month's Club Scrap kit is called Literature and is book and story themed with rich colors and images. You should have just come from Hetty's blog along the hop.  For the Hop today I decided to make a book board mini-album with ATC's. I just love Club Scrap's book board-you can get it in full sheets or packs of smaller pieces. It's thicker than regular chipboard and works great for books!

The mini-album has 6 book board pages covered and decorated with papers form the Literature kit.

Each book board page is a different width. I used a craft knife to cut the book board. Then I covered one side of the book board pages with cardstock from the kit and used Club Scrap book binding glue to adhere them. I overlapped the cardstock over the edge of the pages 3/4." Then I cut mattes to cover the other side of the page.
Measurements for the book board and cardstock covers and mattes:
 2 pieces of book board @ 4 1/2" x 5" for the front and back covers. Cardstock to cover: 6" x 6 1/2", Matte for the other side: 4" x 4 3?4"
1 book board @ 2 3/4" x 5", cardstock to cover: 4 1/4" x 6 1/2", matte: 2 1/2" x 4 3/4"
1 book board @ 3 1/2" x 5", cardstock to cover: 5" x 6 1/2", matte 3 1/4" x 4 3/4"
1 @ 3 1/4" x 5", cardstock to cover: 4 3/4" x 6 1/2", matte 3" x 4 3/4"
1 @ 4" x 5", cardstock to cover: 5 1/2" x 6 1/2", matte 3 3/4" x 4 3/4"

I punched 2 holes in each page 3/8" from the left edge and 1 1/4" from the top and bottom. I tied the book together with 2 pieces of ribbon from the kit.

I ordered the pages in the book all jumbled up so the different widths are staggered.

Some of the pages have folders for the ATC's. I used a 1 1/2" circle punch on the tops of the folders to make it easier to pull the ATC's out. And I think it looks cool :)

I used a combination of the Deluxe kit and the Digital kit to decorate the mini-album and ATC's.

There is a total of 17 ATC's.

I love the staggered look of the pages and the thickness of the book board. It makes for a great solid little book!
Now keep on hopping! Your next stop is Tricia!

Have a great day!

Club Scrap October Artist Team Challenge

Hello again! Welcome to the Club Scrap Artist Team Challenge blog hop. You should have just come from Roni's blog along the hop. This month's kit at Club Scrap is called Literature. It has papers and images with a book and story theme. The Artist Team was challenged to make something you could give as a gift. I had a papercrafting retreat last weekend and the group I go with all gives each other a little giftie. Perfect timing! I made an altered book with a secret compartment inside! Well actually I made 4!

I decided to leave the front fairly free of decoration as a real book would be-I didn't want it to look too altered until they opened it up and saw the "secret" compartment inside!

I found this great tutorial on how to make the compartment inside the book. The hardest part was cutting out all the pages for the compartment- trying to make the sides smooth and cutting the corners. My advice-definitely drill the corners! I didn't for my 1st attempt and it was really hard. When I did another book and drilled the corners it went so much easier! Also-use a NEW blade in your knife!

I love those library cards! and holders. Soo cute!

I made a little pocket by just folding over one page and gluing it to the next along the side and bottom. Then I made a tag that can be pulled out and journaled on or photos added.

From the outside you'd have no idea it wasn't just a regular book!

Then...BAM! You open it up and there's this cool little niche carved out! Aaahhh love it!

I used papers and images from the Paris Flea Market kit for 2 of the books.

I folded some pages in half and added a matte with printed paper-just for variety. I also left some blank pages so they can make it their own if they want to.
I filled the compartment with candy to give to my retreat friends.
The next stop on the Artist Team Challenge blog hop is Hetty! Follow along to see what she made!

Have a great day!

Card Challenge-Mojo Monday 469

Hi! Today was a good for crafting here in Upstate NY - cool outside and Columbus Day so I had the day off! I made a card for the Mojo Monday card sketch challenge 469 using the Club Scrap kit-Literature.

Here's the sketch!

This card is made entirely with materials from the Literature kit. You can't really tell in the photo but the background paper is a shimmery bronze color-so pretty! The patterned paper is actually gold and brown. I just love the combination of red and browns in this kit!

Have a great day!

ATC Challenge-Wicked Wednesday #230

Hello Friends! Happy Columbus Day! I had the day off work today and what better way to spend it than creating! I played along at the Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge site today. The theme was Halloween- anything goes! I LOVE HALLOWEEN! and yes I meant to yell that! The Club Scrap kit for October is called Literature-bookish and literary and...well, not very Halloweenish. Sooo I had to put my thinkin cap on to combine this kit with the challenge.

I think my ATC came out pretty good! The background paper and stamped books image are both from the Literature Kit. The other stamps are from my stash. I had to add the "spells" and skull and cross bones to the stamped image-but I like it!

Have a great day!
