Club Scrap Shades of Winter Blog Hop

Hello again!!! It's Club Scrap Blog Hop time! Woo hoo! If you've been following along the Hop you should have just come from Hetty's blog. The Club Scrap kit for December is called Shades of Winter and is so beautiful! One of my favorite kits for sure! 

I decided to make 3 different kinds of Luminary Cards.
You just put a little battery powered tea light behind the vellum "window" to light up the card!

There's a great video here on how to make this card. I glued the sides together and added the brads that are available with this kit as embellishment.

I colored the raised print paper with a makeup sponge and blue ink. The raised part resists the color and makes a gorgeous design!

 I think this style is my favorite! Check out the tutorial for how to make it. I just love those snowflake dazzle stickers!

 I stamped on the inside too! I used Club Scrap metallic silver ink on the blue shimmery paper that came with the kit. I've found the little tea lights in many places-Dollar Stores even have them! I've found star shaped, red and green glittered ones and plain white.

There's a great tutorial here on how to make this card. I folded the printed paper so that the design was on the inside to give it depth and more interest. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of vellum- I wanted to have the paper design show - I didn't want to cover it up. I used embossing powder on the sentiment. I stamped the snowflake images onto the vellum for the "window" with blue ink.

These cards are so easy to make and have great presentation! They fit in a standard envelope too!

Club Scrap Shades of Winter Artist Team Challenge

Hey There! It's Artist Team Challenge time again! You should have just come from Roni's Blog along the Hop! This month's kit at Club Scrap is called Shades of Winter and I absolutely LOVE it! It's so gorgeous with images of snowflakes and winter berries, ice and shimmer! The Artist Team was tasked with participating in the challenges on the Club Scrap Forum. Every month different challenges are hosted by members. So fun! The forum is also a great place to meet fellow paper crafters and learn about techniques, scrap book layouts...too much to even list! You should definitely check it out!

 

I made 3 cards for 2 different challenges.

 

The first card is for the Sketch Challenge. 

 

 

I followed the sketch pretty closely-I just made a landscape card.

 



 

I used the sparkly blue paper from the kit and made a tiny bow. I love how it came out!

 

The next 2 cards are for the Tool and Stash challenge-liquid sparkle.

 

 

Did I mention how I love this kit?!  Such great papers and those snowflake stamp images!!!

 

I added my liquid sparkle to the snowflake. I stamped in blue ink and then went over some of the image with silver puffy paint! It gives it a 3D texture and is very glittery! LOVE! I also added 3 dots on the card with the puffy paint.

 

 

I did the same thing with this smaller stamped image and for the 3 little dots as well.

 

The detail in the snowflake unmounted rubber stamps is amazing!!!

 

 

For the background of this card I used the raised print paper that comes with the deluxe kit. I used a makeup sponge and dabbed the ink onto the paper. I  applied the ink darker in some places to give dimension. The excess ink rubs right of the raised part.

Club Scrap Technique Challenge

Hello friends! December's Technique Challenge at Club Scrap is hosted by Artist Team member Roni. She came up with a challenge to use non traditional colors and images on Christmas cards and to use a bit of glitz! What a fun idea! I ended up making 3 cards for this challenge!

 

 

I used all Club Scrap papers with some embellishments and stamped images from my stash.

 

 

I was going through my stash of papers and found the Hypno Special Editions paper...So not Christmassy! I used some mustard colored paper from a past kit to stamp the sentiment on.

 

 



 

For this card I used the sparkly silver paper that came with the Celebrate kit to matte behind the stamped gingerbread men. The ribbon is also from Celebrate. For the card base I used the plastic feeling blue cover paper from Woven Strands. The background paper is from Office Space.

 

 

For this last card I used paper from the Office Space kit as the background. I used a piece of patterned vellum from my stash and stamped the sentiment. I used some silver dots as my bling.

 

I really enjoyed this challenge! I'm usually pretty traditional when it comes to Christmas cards and this was so much fun to get out of my comfort zone!

ATC Challenge Wicked Wednesday #239 and Shades of Winter

Hello my friends! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend-it's a cold and snowy one here in Upstate NY! A perfect day to stay inside and create! The weekly ATC challenge over at Wicked Wednesday is Winter Hats or Accessories. I decided to use Club Scrap's Shades of Winter kit and play along!

 

 

Everything except the snowman is from the Shades of Winter kit. I stamped the background with snowflake unmounted rubber images from the kit in blue and black The sentiment was stamped in Club Scrap Metallic Silver ink onto the blue shimmery text weight paper in the deluxe kit. I love those sparkly snowflake stickers!!

Club Scrap Paradise Blog Hop

Hi There! Welcome to the Club Scrap Paradise Blog Hop! You should have just come from Hetty's Blog along the hop. November's Paradise Kit is so fun with bright colors and tropical flowers. I decided to make a set of small gifties to give someone that is retiring. The set includes holders for lotion, hand sanitizer, sunscreen and a drink mix for bottled water.

 

 

I found these little lotions in the samples section of Wal-Mart. I designed the box around it's dimensions. You could alter the measurements for any size lotion.

 

 

For the lotion box I cut a piece of cardstock 6 1/2" X 7 1/4"

 I scored the 6 1/2" side at 1/2", 2", 3 1/2" and 5"

Score the 7 1/4" side at 4 1/4" and 5 3/4"

 

 

Cut the cardstock to look like this. I cut the front of the box to show the lotion inside. I've marked the cardstock with where to cut. 

 

 

 

Cut a piece of cardstock 1 1/2" X 4 1/2"

Score at 1/2", 2", 2 1/2" and 4"

Punch a 1" hole as shown.

 

 

 

 

 

Attach the 1/2" ends together like shown. This piece will hold the lotion from rattling around the box too much.

 

Attach the little bottom piece as shown.

 

 

Put adhesive on the 1/2" flap and fold the sides over the bottom piece and attach.

 

 

Put adhesive on 2 of the pieces of the cover and fold over each other forming a box like lid.

 

 

I used a corner punch to round the edges of the top-I just like the way it looks.

 

 

Then decorate!

 

The sunscreen box fits a small tube like the one above.

 

 

Cut a piece of cardstock 7" x 9". Score on the short side at 1/2" and 1 /8" from each end. Score on the long side @ 1 1/8", 2 1/4", 3 3/8", 4 1/2" and 5 5/8". Cut as shown above.

 

 

Fold up into a box as shown.

 



 

I used an aqua painter to color in the stamped images from the Paradise kit.

 

 

There was a perfect sentiment with the unmounted rubber stamps from this kit!

 

 

Cut a piece of cardstock 2 1/2" x 8 1/8". Score at 2" and 6". I punched a 1 1/4" scallop circle as shown. Fold the bottom piece up to form the little pocket for the drink mix. I used brads to adhere the pocket in place.

For the hand sanitizer box cut a piece of cardstock 2 1/4" x 9". Score at 1 1/4", 5 5/8" and 6 7/8".
Cut another piece of cardstock 2 1/4" x 6 1/4" and score at 1 1/4", 4 1/2" and 5 3/4".

Punch a 1" hole in the shorter piece as shown.

Attach the 2 pieces together on the 1 1/4" sections as shown.

Put adhesive on the 1/2" scored part and attach the top part. There's a little trick I learned to make sure the top part gets attached in the right place. Fold the piece as shown and flatten the cardstock down-adhering the part in the exact position you need!

Here's how the holder should look.

Decorate the front and slip in the hand sanitizer! Done!

Club Scrap Paradise kit cards

Hello! I can't believe how fast this Fall is flying by! It's almost December already! I've been playing with the amazing Club Scrap Paradise kit! This kit is so colorful and fun! I decided to make some fun and colorful cards! The 1st card I made is called a magic card.

 

 

Here's the magic! Just pull up the tab and the image becomes colorful and the punch line of the joke appears! AHHH so fun! The unmounted rubber stamp images with this kit are perfect to make magic cards! There's a great tutorial on Dawn's Stamping Studio blog on how to make this card.

 

I also made a Free Standing Pop-up Card. When it's opened it stands up open on it's own.

 



 

It can be folded flat to fit into a regular card size envelope. There's a great tutorial HERE on how to make this card.

I know I've said it before but I just love making unique fancy fold and 3D cards!

Club Scrap November Artist Team Challenge

Hello! November already! This Autumn has gone by soo fast! Welcome to the Club Scrap Artist Team Challenge Blog Hop! You should have just come from Roni's Blog if you're following the hop order. This month's Artist Team Challenge at Club Scrap was to create something using stamped images from the Girlfriends and/or Enchanted Forest unmounted stamps. Both sets are so cute with florals and mushrooms and Fairies!! I decided to make 3 cards with pockets for an ATC.

 

 

The stamped images on the front of this card are all from the Girlfriends stamps. I used papers from the Club Scrap Paradise kit on all the cards.

 

 

Here's the inside of the card with the pocket and ATC.

 

 

I trapped a fairy inside a mason jar!!!

 

I LOVE those mushroom stamps from the Enchanted Forest stamps!!! SOOO cute!

 

 

The little mushroom charms are from the Enchanted Forest kit. They also asked us to use the Sunflower Sparkle stickers on our projects. I used a lot :)

 

 

I trapped her magic wand in this one :) The paper for the ATCs is a shimmery opalescent I had in my stash.

 

 

I used an image from Girlfriends for the background of this gate fold card.

 

 

At least I put some foliage and a mushroom for her to sit on in this mason jar. ;)
